COSMIC ENIGMAS – WHAT DO WE KNOW ABOUT DARK MATTER AND ENERGY?

The Embassy of Japan and the Max Planck Society warmly invite you to an event with lectures and discussions, to be held in Berlin on 19th April 2018 as part of the Max Plank Forum lecture series. 

Speakers:

                Eiichiro Komatsu, Director at the MPI for Astrophysics
                Masahiro Teshima, Director at the MPI for Physics

How did the universe begin? Why did stars, planets and galaxies form? The Big Bang theory is now recognized as the leading explanation, but it is still fraught with many mysteries.
The forum will discuss current positions of astrophysics on dark matter and dark energy - driving forces in the evolution of the universe or yesterday's theory?
