Ongoing megatrends such as internationalization and globalization connect economies, markets and business people. Not only companies but also employees and business teams need to expand their thinking from domestic to cross-border and further contribute to international cooperation. Gaining international experience by working with joint projects or acquiring knowledge on-site seems to be of utmost importance in order to broaden horizons. Our speaker shared his experience of working internationally and preparing professionals, executive leaders and young talents for an international market.
Professor Yoshihiro Takiguchi studied Nuclear Engineering during his Bachelor and Master degrees at Nagoya University. Subsequently, he joined Hamamatsu Photonics K.K. as a researcher working for ultrafast laser and detection projects. Hamamatsu sent him to The City College of New York (CCNY) for a collaborate operation of “Photonic Application Laboratory”. After he came back to Hamamatsu, he worked for several national projects including “Quantum Fluctuation” project at the Japanese Agency for Science and Technology and the Japanese Air and Space Agency to promote Space application of Photonics. He started working at the Graduate School for the Creation of New Photonics Industries (GPI) as a professor to teach students from companies to train them to be a business leader for each section of industrial fields. He also founded his own company TAK System Initiative Corporation to boost new photonics businesses and was assigned as vice president for international collaboration from the GPI.
