The European Japan Experts Association (EJEA) was established in 1995 and started organizing annual conferences in 2018. The conferences were initially held in different European cities, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 25th-anniversary conference in 2020 was postponed to 2021 and took place in Japan and online. In 2022, the EJEA conference was held online and hosted by the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany. The conferences aimed to explore the similarities and challenges faced by Europe and Japan in the digital transformation era.
This year’s hybrid conference is hosted by Fraunhofer Institute FIT and will be realized in presence at Schloss Birlinghoven in Sankt Augustin (near Bonn, Germany) and online. The conference allows online participation from Japan (afternoon) and Europe (morning).
Europe as well as Japan are affected by the digital transformation, but are they affected in the same way? The conference will explore what opportunities, risks and actions need to be considered to master the future. Digital transformation affects all levels of society and thus influence companies, institutions, and individuals. Digital transformation is not only a core element of research and education but also the basis for decisions in business, politics and on a personal level.
