ROAD 2026 – Registration is now open! We are pleased to announce the 7th Roundtable on the Purpose of Autonomous Driving (ROAD 2026), taking place from September 30 to October 2, 2026 at Kanagawa Institute of Technology (KAIT), Japan.

This year's theme: SAFETY and DRIVING AI

"The Final Pieces of the Autonomous Driving Puzzle"

Over the past decade, ROAD has evolved into a unique international forum bringing together researchers, industry experts, and public-sector stakeholders to discuss not only how autonomous driving works, but why it matters.

ROAD 2026 will focus on key questions such as: 

• Can AI understand the driving environment like humans?
• Can safety ever be proven?
• How will autonomous mobility shape future cities?
• Will logistics become human-free?
• Will automakers become AI companies?

Following successful editions in Germany, Japan, the United States, the Netherlands, and Thailand, we are excited to continue this international dialogue in Atsugi, Japan.
