As emerging technologies become pivotal elements of 21st-century geopolitics, inter-state competition in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector is intensifying, and cybersecurity is assuming greater significance. This panel aims to explore how we should understand technological competition in the ICT and cyber domains within the context of contemporary geopolitics. Furthermore, it will examine the cybersecurity landscapes and response strategies of Europe, Asia, and the United States.
The event is the first in a trilateral seminar series co-hosted by the Consulates General of Japan, Korea, and the United States in Frankfurt. It features experts, including PRIF researchers, who will discuss their respective countries‘ perspectives and policies on current global issues and areas of mutual interest. A follow-up seminar on global supply chains and risk mitigation will take place on November 18.
