Cracking the "twin challenge" of digital and green transformation could have a huge impact on future energy supply and decarbonization. Our experts will show the potentials of digital innovation along the entire value chain, from energy production to a circular economy. How can "smart" decarbonization be further accelerated? A discussion with the audience is expected to provide more answers.

The symposium is organized by the Japanese-German Center Berlin (JDZB) in cooperation with the German Economic Institute (IW), Cologne, and Fujitsu Ltd., Tokyo.

Input will be delivered by introductions by Dr. Martin SCHULZ, Chief Policy Economist at Fujitsu Ltd., Tokyo, Prof. Dr. Hubertus BARDT, Managing Director and Head of Research at the German Economic Institute (IW), Cologne, and the panellists Prof. Dr. Jens STRÜKER, Professor for Business Informatics and Digital Energy Management at the University of Bayreuth, and Dr. Marta MARMIROLI, Senior General Manager at Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Tokyo. The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Adriana NELIGAN, Senior Economist for Green Economy and Resource Economics at the German Economic Institute (IW), Cologne.
