DJW members Dr. Rolf Schlunze and Silvia Lawrence would like to invite you to the open meeting of DJW Working Group Intercultural Management.
All our meetings start with a kick-off presentation on various subjects, followed by an open question-guided discussion. The meetings usually last one hour. During the past few months, we discussed trust building in general in German-Japanese teams and also toughness and humanity or empathy. Starting from September, our discussions focus on the creation of cultural synergy. Aligned with the wider agenda and interest of our fellow DJW members, we wish to promote competent cultural exchanges.
In December, our topic is "The cultural dimension in mediation and systemic counseling". Developed and designed for solutions to existing problems, systemic consulting and mediation are professional methods geared to support people and to accompany them during the resulting processes of change. Our perceptions, values, and patterns of behavior are shaped by the social and cultural environment we grow up in. Accordingly, cultural aspects play a significant role for mediation and systemic consulting.
DJW members Karin Yamaguchi (systemic consultant) and Christian von Baumbach (mediator) view themselves as intermediaries, bridge builders between Japan and Germany, supporting people rooted in or connected to both countries, such as bi-national families and international teams. In this DJW Working Group Meeting, Karin and Christian will share their experiences regarding the cultural aspects in mediation and systemic consulting, followed by a discussion with the participants.
You can join the meeting by clicking the link on Workspace Intercultural in our Networking Hub or sign up for this event above so that you will receive the link to enter via e-mail.
Participation is free of charge for DJW members. Non-members of DJW may attend up to two working group meetings free of charge. If you then would like to join further meetings, we invite you to explore the benefits of a DJW membership and join us as a member.
