Working Group "Intercultural Management": Networking and Feedback

DJW members Dr. Rolf D. Schlunze, Carsten Watanabe, and Aoi Ono would like to invite you to contribute to the DJW Working Group "Intercultural Management". In our working group, we aim at discussing various intercultural aspects of working in a Japanese-German business environment. The DJW Working Group "Intercultural Management" meets on regular basis to discuss the topic of intercultural competence.

Over the past year, our workgroup has taken a deep dive into the many facets of intercultural cooperation ranging from Merger Integration to leadership development with AI tools. Time and again, the most enriching moments came from the candid conversations, shared experiences, and practical insights contributed by participants from both Germany and Japan.

For this reason we want to have a dedicated session focusing on networking and feedback to improve these meetings for everyone.

We want to carry this energy and collaboration into 2026.

In this session, we invite everyone to reflect and connect with us: Which intercultural management topics will be especially relevant in the coming year? Where do we still encounter friction and where do we see new opportunities for smoother collaboration and mutual understanding?

This networking and feedback session is designed to give space to your perspectives, experiences, and expectations. Your input will help shape the focus areas and activities of the DJW Working Group on Intercultural Management for the upcoming year.

Meeting Flow

During our meetings all participants are invited to share their opinion and alternative solutions to these issues. Participants have an opportunity to relate to each other by selecting the next speaker themselves. We would like to encourage everybody to contribute with your own experiences to improve our intercultural competence.
