Topic
The recent “Diesel scandal” has fuelled critical discussions about the future of combustion engines and further accelerated the transition to electric vehicles. As a consequence, the concepts of mobility are radically changing at this point. Car manufacturers and suppliers have to rethink and revaluate their strategies and investments. This development also fosters innovations in technology and provides numerous opportunities for joint German-Japanese business activities. What are the key components of an electric car and − to take one further step into the future − what are the ingredients that turn self-driving cars into reality? How could Japanese and German companies benefit from one another and even adapt technological improvements?
