Twice a year, in March and September, Steinbeis‘ School of Management and Technology (SMT) travels to Tokyo to conduct an Intercultural Competence Seminar with the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT). In this seminar, German and Japanese students are brought together and exposed to different perspectives of culture: learning about theories, enjoying journies into Japanese culture, dining, sightseeing, and company visits. Additionally, they work on solving a real company case by integrating industrial and cultural aspects to submit a data-driven strategic plan on how to overcome business barriers when operating in a foreign market.

Invitation to become a case-firm

The invitation to participate as a case firm is free of charge. A case typically describes a firm‘s need for new product positioning in a foreign market, new business alliance strategies, and a penetration plan into the Japanese market. Inter-cultural teams of German and Japanese Master‘s students work in teams to solve a real problem by taking into consideration business, cultural, regulatory, and marketing aspects.
