Expat Service Desk: Guided Tour to the Christmas Markets in Mettmann and Düsseldorf

The German Christmas Markets are internationally well known and appreciated. Soon it is time again: In many towns the Christmas Markets and winter fairs will be held and the Advent season with its enchanting atmosphere starts. For some international employees and their families who have just arrived to Düsseldorf or the Mettmann County it will be their first visit of the Christmas Markets. In order to introduce the local Christmas traditions and customs, the Expat Service Desk organizes a guided tour to two different Christmas Markets.

The tour will be accompanied by the English-speaking  guides from the County of Mettmann and Düsseldorf. The first station will be the “Blotschenmarkt” in Mettmann, which is very traditional, cozy and well set on the Marktplatz. The second station of the tour is the Christmas Market on the Schadowplatz in Düsseldorf. During the bus trip, the guides will provide a lot of interesting and useful information about the region and the German Christmas traditions.

Tour Schedule

• 4 pm: Meeting at the lobby of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK)
• 4:15 pm: Departure to Mettmann
• 5 - 6 pm: Visit of the “Blotschenmarkt” in Mettmann
• 6 pm: Departure to Düsseldorf
• 6:45 - 8 pm: Visit of the Christmas Market on the Schadowplatz.

Afterwards you have the possibility to explore other Christmas Markets of Düsseldorf on your own.
