Working Group Meeting "Intercultural Management"
Cultural Sensitivity | Positive Communication | Change Management
Fr 18.07.2025, 19:00 - 20:00 (JST)
Online
DJW members Dr. Rolf D. Schlunze, Carsten Watanabe, and Aoi Ono would like to invite you to contribute to the DJW Working Group "Intercultural Management". In our working group, we aim at discussing various intercultural aspects of working in a Japanese-German business environment. The DJW Working Group "Intercultural Management" meets on regular basis to discuss the topic of intercultural competence.
This working group session explores how current AI technologies can help transform the way leaders are trained, empowered, and supported. Participants will discover practical applications of generative artificial intelligence in leadership training, including AI-powered simulations and AI-assisted coaching.
The session will address the opportunities and challenges of integrating AI into leadership development, with a focus on maintaining human-centric values such as empathy and intercultural sensitivity. Interactive exercises and critical discussion help attendees gain insights for leveraging AI to foster more effective, humane and future-ready leaders in a global context, especially within intercultural contexts.
The workshop is presented by Mathias Maul, Hamburg, Germany. His first job after his university degree was programming chatbots – in 2001. He holds a Master’s Degree in linguistics (speech recognition), computer science (ML/AI) and English (nonsense literature). Mathias is a leadership coach, organizational developer and psychotherapist working in Germany and Japan. One of his team’s specialities is managing organizational change during A.I. integration in the workplace. Mathias also teaches digital branding, social media, and business coaching at two German universities.
Looking forward to a lively session!
