Working Group "Sustainability": ESG-Management

Welcome to the DJW Working Group "Sustainability"!

Our DJW member, Jean Bauer, who has been actively involved in the field of sustainability for 10 years and has been self-employed in this area since 2023, has established a new working group within DJW to provide a platform for direct exchange on this incredibly important topic within DJW members! The working group brings together companies of all sizes and industries, self-employed individuals, private individuals, and anyone interested in the topic of "Sustainability in the German and Japanese economy." The goal is to understand and compare the diverse regulations of both countries, identify market trends, exchange experiences and perspectives, and collaboratively find practical solutions.

Sustainability is a global challenge. Germany and Japan, as leading industrial nations, bear a strong responsibility for environmental and resource protection. The exchange between both countries allows us to share best practices and innovative approaches regarding sustainability and learn from each other. The knowledge transfer achieved can contribute to addressing common challenges, identifying market trends, and improving sustainability performance in both countries, promoting long-term and resource-efficient economic development. 

We are planning on organizing regular working group meetings focussing on various deep dive topics of sustainability. This session in February 2024 will focus on ESG Management as a framwork for our discussion.

Meeting Flow

During our meetings, all participants are invited to share their opinion and alternative solutions on these issues. We like to encourage everybody to contribute with their own experiences bettering our understanding. The main spoken language will be English, but questions can be posed in German and in Japanese as well.
