  • Proactively define strategy and roadmap for CBU Engineering by responding to the customer and demands of the company as well as disrupting product trends including roll out and facilitation at high level

  • Lead a multi-cultural, globally diversified engineering team to fulfill all company and customer needs

  • Manage all budget and capacity planning

  • Develop the team and train individuals to future needs, challenge the team’s proposals and drive it for success

  • Collaborate with Program Management in facilitating the FLP process with the PLM system and ensure its utilization

  • Apply internal lessons learned activities and be an active part of the knowledge management process

  • Responsible for setting and measuring the performance targets of the team

  • Execute and support cost reduction activities to reduce product and development costs

  • Lead direct reports to comply with external OEM, legislative requirements (SAE/CARB) and internal Core Engineering processes/standards

  • Overall lead of product design and development functions that satisfy customer performance and timing requirements

  • Interface with customer engineering to establish design goals and make design recommendations for assigned programs

  • Lead interface with Manufacturing Engineering to develop production tooling and equipment specifications

  • Coordinate distribution, communication and implementation of all engineering escalation within the company

  • Ensure compliance with validation and product test requirements

  • Responsible for the design, procurement, and coordination/prove-out of all prototype tooling (molds, gages, fixtures, etc.) and components according to all standards

  • Support manufacturing plants with resolution of technical issues, especially related to design

  • Ensure knowledge about and compliance with Customer Specific Requirements throughout your team and if necessary define training measures

  • Ensure availability and effectiveness of organizational roles, responsibilities and authorities for the quality management system to comply to automotive standards and customer requirements especially according to IATF 16949
  • University degree in Mechanical or Electronical Engineering, Mechatronics or a comparable education
  • Experience in leadership of a diverse team of engineers: ideally > 8 years experience

  • International automotive and manufacturing experience, ideally within Product Development (> 10 years) of a TIER 1 supplier

  • Excellent knowledge in Engineering/Product development processes

  • Commercial experience

  • Knowledge within TS 16949 documentation requirements

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Capability to convince and inspire others
