Expat-MeetUp (Düsseldorf, 08.03.2017)

Hinweis unseres Mitglieds Stadt Düsseldorf

Gaining information, sharing experiences and networking is of great importance especially for newcomers in Düsseldorf and Mettmann.

Since January 2017, the Expat Service Desk has been offering initial information and consultations concerning living and working within the City of Düsseldorf and the Mettmann County for international professionals with their families. The Expat Service Desk is a project of the Office of Economic Development of the City of Düsseldorf and of the Mettmann County in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce of Düsseldorf (IHK).

In everyday life, dealing with German colleagues at work you encounter different challenges on the levels of culture and working mentality. What do you have to consider when you start a job in Germany? How do you interact in one or another job situation? During the event we will discuss expectations and experiences about dealing with your German colleagues from an intercultural point of view.

In addition to cultural challenges, there are also many legal aspects, which have to be considered. When working in a German or international company, foreign professionals often have a wide range of questions, such as terms of employment, the appropriate form of contract and the relevant insurances. In the second impulse presentation we will also inform you about this topic.

The event “Expat MeetUp” is aimed for international professionals and expats who live and work in Düsseldorf and the Mettmann County or plan to do so.

In this event you will meet renowned and experienced speakers with the focus on international management, career planning and employment law.
